Bruises

Melting purple was the colour of my nail vanish to match the fingerprints on my skin.

My pale skin kissed with colours of yellow and purple fading like the summer sun.

When the morning comes I can barely move. My body struggling to repair and recover the damage.

I force myself from my bed and head to the bathroom.

When I look in the mirror it’s not me, I look the same but I can’t shake the feeling that I am not in my own skin.

I lift my head to see again the marks painted on my neck where he restrained me.

It hurt to breath and I wondered to what extent my body was broken.
