Too Glam Not To Glow

Glam Glow

I had seen posts for ages about how amazing Glam Glow Face Masks are and how good they can make your skin feel. I was very sceptical at first but after repeatedly seeing posts I decided to give it a go. Before spending £41 on a small tub of sparkly face mask I wanted to buy a few of the small travel sizes to see if I liked any of them.

I ummed and ahhed for a while over what ones to buy. In the end I went for a ‘Flashmud brightening treatment’ a ‘Supermud clearing treatment’ and a pot of the most popular ‘Gravitymud firming treatment’. These three minis alone came to £48.

I received my order within a few days on standard delivery, it was nice and prompt. When I took them out of the packing they were significantly smaller than I expected, although I am not sure what I really expected for 15g. I was happy to see at the bottom of the pack was a free sample of the ‘Thirstymud hydrating treatment’. I tried to ignore the fact I felt super ripped off by these tiny pots and went on to try them. I left a week between the different muds to see how it would react to my skin and if it would be a worthwhile addition to my weekly routine.

First, I decided to try the ‘Supermud clearing treatment’. When I opened the lid, I was hit with a distinctive smell that reminded me of black liquorice. The mud was a gloopy, shiny charcoal colour and felt very thick as I applied it to my face. I could feel It had small lumps in it that I didn’t expect and it felt strange moving around my face as I tried to even it out. I set a timer for 20 minutes and sat down to watch the TV. Once the 20 minutes were up the mask had gone stiff, I was ready to wash it off. The Mud was very easy to wash off my face using warm water and a cloth. Afterwards I gently patted my face dry and felt the texture of my skin. My Face felt soft to touch but a little dried out. I left my skin as it was after the mask and went to bed. The next morning when I woke up my skin still felt soft still but it looked and felt very oily. I had to use an exfoliating wipe before I could put anything else on my skin. These were slightly disappointing first results.

A week later I knew I was planning to go out with the girls at the weekend and decided it would be a good idea to try is the ‘Flashmud brightening treatment’. This Mud is described on the Glam Glow Website as ‘a multi-sensorial quick results brightening treatment. Powerful & Innovative multi-brightening complexes help to create the brightest, lightest & luminous perfect skin’. After the Supermud I was keeping positive about this brightening treatment. The packaging suggested using it for three days before an event, like my night out on Saturday. I did just this for three days straight. On Saturday morning, I was pleased and surprised with my results. Instead of looking in the mirror to see tired and sad skin my face looked much more awake than usual. My skin felt fresh and clean without applying anything else but the mask from the night before. I loved the feeling the mud gave me in the morning and how radiant it made my face look. That evening getting ready for a night out with the girls was no effort at all. I only used a light amount of make up on my skin as I wanted to show off how good it looked naturally. I will defiantly be using the Flashmud again.

Another week later it was time to try the ‘Gravitymud firming treatment’. This mud is the one I had seen numerous posted all over social media about. The Gravity Mud is described on Glam Glows website as ‘an Out of This World Innovative Peel Off Mud treatment that instantly leaves skin feeling firmer and more lifted.’ As I opened the lid I was hit with an intensely sweet smell. I could see the sparkle of the silvery goo that was inside. Following the instructions I applied a thin layer to my face and set a timer for 30 minutes. The goo almost looked pretty on my skin as it sparkled. Once my 30 minutes were up I gently touched my face to make sure the mask was completely dry. I could see right away the colour had changed slightly to a light grey with less of a sparkle to it. I peeled it off very easily in almost one go. Without even touching my skin I could feel how smooth it was. At first I was worried the peel off mask might dry my skin out but instead in the morning my face felt refreshed. I think this Mud firming treatment is a great addition to any routine. I will be using it once a week to give my face a Fresh boost.

Overall, I think that the Glam Glow products are a bit overpriced. I do however think they are a great product. I have now purchased a full size 50g pot of the Gravitymud and a full sized pot of the Flashmud. I got sent a 15% off welcome discount for sinning up to the newsletter, I would recommend this to anyone looking to make a multiple purchase. I don’t think the Supermud really had any effect on my skin, maybe it would work for someone who suffers with bad spots to reduce the redness. This mud wasn’t for me. I would like to try some of the other products Glam Glow offer in the future.

A note for those that are Vegan or against Animal Testing, Glam Glow are cruelty free. ‘All GLAMGLOW products are tested for irritants and allergens using biological assays and human volunteers. We do not test our products on animals, nor do we ask others to conduct animal testing on our behalf.’ This is just another reason to love the Glam Glow products.
